Milan Fashion Week is over! We saw that the key rule of Bottega Veneta, Missoni and Agnona’ s style is ‘lightness’. Dolce & Gabbana, instead, gave us a huge throwback into the past. Here is everything we saw during the last days of the Milano Fashion Week!
Milan Fashion Week 2018/2019 started with many trend news, like the introduction of big shapes and biker shorts. But also elegance, lightness and sophistication were part of the fourth and fifth day of the shows!
FIRST RULE: LIGHTNESS
First in line is Bottega Veneta, which opted for a clean and simple style. Its creative designer used a clear white base and adorned it with rich decorations. The colors are neutral, but sometimes in contrast with bright and acid shades, or warmer tones.
Missoni, which celebrated its 20 year anniversary with creative director Angela Missoni, presented many pastel colors, but in a warmer way, almost as to replicate a romantic sunset. The dresses represented elegance, lightness and sophistication thanks to the soft, lacy materials and to transparency.
Next, Ermanno Scervino brought a new idea of sensuality represented through masculine jackets and shirts which are probably much more comfortable for us girls! Also Agnona went for something looser, with fluid oversized garments in vivid and brilliant shades.
Armani, instead, proposes a soft collection, with pastel colors like baby pink and blue. The collection’s peculiarity are the inserts of particular fabrications, which are able to capture all the reflections of the lights.
Fila stepped onto the runways of Milan Fashion Week for the very first time to unveil its collaboration with Fendi. The main colors of the catwalk were, of course, white red and black and showed retro silhouettes with baggy track pants, oversized t-shirts and boxy polo shirts.
DOLCE & GABBANA: THROWBACK
Our favorite show was definitely Dolce & Gabbana! The theme of this season’s show was DNA—the designers’ own fingerprints were, in fact, projected on screens behind the audience. Stefano Dolce and Domenico Gabbana introduced, next to their timeless elegance, the sense of family into the show as they let many influencers walk the runway with their partner, like Mariano Di Vaio with his wife Eleonora Brunacci and Marco Fantini with girlfriend Beatrice Valli. Also, the show seemed to go back in time because models like Monica Bellucci, Eva Herzigova and Helena Christensen walked the runways once again.
